Kiefer Promises Best Season Yet

Yeah, I know, you’ve heard that before, in fact i’ve heard the ‘Best Season Yet’ tag applied to every season since the third, but this sounds promising. Cutting through the extra baggage, here are the quotes from Kiefer.

“After so many postponements, I can assure you that none of us at 24 took for granted the significance of this upcoming season,” Sutherland explained.

“But the time allowed us to do something that has never been done before – create a map of the entire season before we started shooting. So I can tell you without hesitation, I know for a fact, that Season 7 is going to be the best season yet.”

The most interesting thing in there for me is Kiefer stating that they actually mapped out an entire season before shooting started, something i’ve long suggested they should be doing, and if they have then that really starts to get me excited, as we may be in for a season which has some real thrills and spills in it, things which have thought out, not simply made up on the spot.

So here’s hoping Kiefer hasn’t been misquoted and that he meant it.

Robert Carlyle Cast In Prequel

Well the news on the prequel just keeps coming today, earlier I posted about the air date being set at the 23rd of November. Now I bring you news that the Scottish actor Robert Carlyle has been cast in the prequel. Carlyle has previous been in Trainspotting, The Full Monty, The World Is Not Enough and 28 Weeks Later among others. No word yet on his character, or how big the part is, although it’s expected his character won’t make any appearance in the seventh season proper.

S7 Prequel To Air November 23rd

That’s quite a bit later than I expected, or should I say hoped it would air, but still not to look a gift horse in the mouth, mark your diaries for Sunday November 23rd.

The TV guide article revealing the date has a few more details about the prequel.

… Filmed partially on location in South Africa, the “prequel” finds Jack Bauer battling an international crisis (yea!), while back home, the United States prepares to inaugurate a new president.

“We’re excited about the prequel because it explores Jack’s complex emotional state of mind and still has all the signature excitement and suspense that fans have come to expect from 24,” says executive producer Howard Gordon. “Shooting in South Africa affirms everyone’s commitment to making this season especially memorable for our fans.” …

CTU: Provo

I often receive emails from various people asking me to look at various 24 related materials they’ve made, hoping i’ll post about them here, not to downplay the efforts made but if I posted about any and everything which gets sent my way, it’s all this site would be, and so i’ve got to save my breath until something truly worth posting about comes along, which is the case now.

CTU: Provo” is a fanmade ‘parody-homage’ which runs to a full 90 minutes. Don’t be mislead by the word fanmade, the film has very impressive production qualities, enjoys an excellent cast, a solid script and direction which at times is more inventive than that shown on the show itself in recent times.

The film follows the team of a CTU field office, a Jack Bauer wannabe and his best-friend as they try to avert a eco-terrorist threat made against the most unlikely of targets, the small town of Provo, Utah. What ensues is at times, exciting, funny or just down right silly, but always highly entertaining. In short, if your in need of something to watch while you soldier on through the torturous wait until Series 7, then this is heaven sent and highly recommended.

Watch the trailer above and then head on over to the website to download the full length film, at the moment it’s only available as a direct download of 1GB, but i’m told torrent downloads will be up as soon as possible. I’ll probably be posting a full review in a week or so.
