“…Nothing else on TV zips along at such a breakneck pace,…That rush is the drama’s best, and worst, attribute. Keeping both eyes clearly on the speedometer means treating the characters as little more than crash-test dummies that might not survive the next collision. It’s all whoosh and no wit… …All that said, “24” is never boring. Split screens haven’t been this effective since the 1970 film “Woodstock,” and I’m tempted to buy the soundtrack, if only to have the warped tick-tocking on file. It sounds like someone dripping acid on the “60 Minutes” stopwatch…
…But I’d give up a few moments of nonstop action and camera tricks to find out a little more about Bauer. What are his hobbies? Does he enjoy long walks in the moonlight? Ginger or Mary Ann? Perhaps then I’d care a little bit more about what happens to him and treat “24” as more than just a lap around the track…”

“24 is set to get the videogame treatment late this year, with Sony reportedly bagging the license to Fox’s all-action counter-terrorist-busting TV hit starring Keifer Sutherland… …recent months have put Sony in the frame – and most recently those whispers have turned into more concrete reports, with the normally reliable UK Official PlayStation 2 magazine including the game as part of its 100 Most Wanted supplement in the January issue…
…Sony’s Cambridge Studio has reportedly been working on the title for some time, with UK development sources close to the studio confirming our suspicions recently…
…Official word has been less forthcoming, though, with Sony’s own press office apparently out of the loop with developments. Sony’s UK representative Jennie Kong could offer no official confirmation at this point. “I don’t have it on my schedule,” was the most recent comment we could extract. “[We did see] it in OPS2M on their schedule but there isn’t anything official on it. I have no idea where they have got that from.”…
…With a release date reportedly set for the end of this year.”
“Some have asked whether Muslims are being depicted unfairly on the current season of “24.”…The real question is, since when has television depicted any minority fairly?… …The thing is, if there were dozens of minority families, who were shown doing good things, bad things, interesting things, anything, the depiction of the Araz family on “24” would not be an issue…the fact that there are still too few full, rich, intriguing minority characters on television…
…Don’t blame “24” for that…
…The ironic fact is, “24” has been one of the few shows on TV that has integrated a large number of minority actors into its lead cast … Korean-American Daniel Dae Kim, depicted a tough law-enforcement type, the very antithesis of the Asian nerd stereotype…
…The best thing…is they were minorities wasn’t necessarily ignored, but it wasn’t really treated as big deal either. They were just cool characters played by good actors…”
