This report from futon critic points to atleast two more series of ’24’, this pretty much sets in stone other reports that there will be a fifth series, and probably kills off any hopes that NBC had of nicking the show from FOX.

That’s from an intriuging article which claims that NBC could nick ’24’ from FOX. I don’t see it happening, but if it did I reckon it would be good for the show for so many reasons, firstly all of the fourth series has had the stench of network interference and second it might mean a return to UK terrestial screens instead of being monopolised by Sky (Pay Television Service).

A little while ago a article at Aint It Cool News suggested that ‘Lost‘ writer David Fury had been hired as a Co-Executive Producer, now it seems another writer, Manny Coto from now cancelled ‘Star Trek: Enterprise‘ has been hired in a similar role. As far as I’m aware their hasn’t been official confirmation of a fifth series, but it’s looking good, an article at the BBC Cult Website that lists ’24’ as renewed also gives us hope.
The 24 Fanatic is currently linking to an article on Aint It Cool News which says that David Fury a writer on TV show ‘Lost‘ has “signed on as the new co-executive producer on ‘24,’ helping to ruin Jack Bauer’s fifth day.” This is a long way off being official confirmation of a fifth series, but fourth series ratings in the states are looking very good and with a ps2 game out later this year, ’24’ looks like slowly becoming the sort of cash cow FOX have a hard time resisting.
